In the end it's about upholding a certain standard, a sense of right and wrong. In the end it is wrong to treat fellow human beings as being without any rights whatsoever. It is wrong according to the basic human rights that most, if not all, of is agree to. Right to life, right to a fair trial, right to a certain level of decency.

If we as the more developed (or 'better', if you will) people don't uphold this standard, then two things follow: the response from enemies will be even worse; and we lose morally.

Real power is to spare a life when you could have taken it with no consequence, the same goes for rights. By giving all people, no matter creed or place of birth, we gain humanity, by taking it away we become monsters.

Congressman Weiner: "You Don't Know What Socialism Means!"

I think this was a good debate. The Fox guy was even likable, even though he was fighting for the wrong side, and Weiner was sharp and quick in his retorts, which was refreshing to most people who are just pummled by this interview style. It worked well here.

Oh yes, Danish dubbing is as terrible as the rest of them. I think the whole dubbing concept is bad. Show the stuff in its original language, that's what the authors intended and that way you don't lose any jokes, subtleties or hidden messages. Most jokes won't translate well, so the dubbers have to make their own - and they are not comedians.

I think overdubbing makes good things bad and German tends to overdub everything... shame on them. I will continue to downvote everything overdubbed into anything (except maybe English).
