No Need to Wash Urine off of 'Male' Infants ∴ Islam=True.
Ha I love this.

Take one stupid person's opinion and extrapolate it to mean that all Muslim people think this.

IV. The Art of Economics (Blog Entry by imstellar28)
Okay what about military spending then? How does one justify the spending of millions of dollars on a single fighter plane, that then has to be maintained? Especially if its with weapon manufactures who lobbied for these contracts?

Am really surprised that you would think that Economics is really an art form at all, lets remember that this social science is still in it's infancy most of its laws and views have been changed over year on year because while it does have some absolutes its been confronted with new information over and over again from the great depression, to military spending, to protectionist trade.

I studied economics for 4 years in University and all I can say that 90% of it is following market trends, and absolute evaluations only can occur years later after all the data has been divulged.

For your Pre-Debate Consideration (Blog Entry by Farhad2000)
Nice.

Well you proven my point, you have increased government spending, which doesn't factor in defense and military spending increases, at the same time you have a shrinking of tax base. Increasing federal deficits.

I just find it ridiculous for you to claim that Republican spending can recreating multiplier effects later on while you cannot assume the same for a Democratic president (really our usage of them being liberal is false).

Furthermore using abstract figures of government increases in spending doesn't really give us a good indicator of the economy, which one encapsulate one side of the nation, my preferred count in the growth of the middle class since it means people moving from low incomes families into the middle class, and at the same time allows more middle class families to move into the upper classes of income.

This is an interesting report. http://dpc.senate.gov/dpc-new.cfm?doc_name=fs-110-1-70

You forget that the 2007 figure is Katrina and the shoring up of infrastructure programs post bridge collapse.

Are you saying that the Healthcare program is not a plus to an economy? Why not look at it in the reverse and look at how liberal spending on infrastructure has allowed Republicans to have tax cuts and live on depreciating infrastructure.

Democrats don't engage in costly wars? What was World War 2 then? What was LBJ with the Vietnam war?

VideoSift 2nd Presidential Debate Liveblog Party (Election08 Talk Post)
Wrong day and way too late for me. Last time I had to wait till 4 AM to watch the thing live.

I honestly don't expect anything practicality amazing and or shocking form either candidates.

Obama needs to nail McCain but is reluctant to do so via direct comparison between McCain Policy and Bush Policy.

I wonder how it would effect users like Pinky who share personal information one night and then realize that they shared too much the next day?

But does the $100 glass really translate to a $100 suit? The costs of production vary between these two commodities.

Furthermore one can also say glass relies on more input factors (sand, energy, skill) then the clothing (skill, cotton) industry.

III. Do Free Markets Exist? (Blog Entry by imstellar28)
But again we are working on normative descriptions that have no basis in reality, they are wrong even when they are right because we are trying to describe something theoretically.

Market conditions are often so complex that no free markets can exist, because coercion forces don't always need to be of a physical nature they can be of a persuasive nature, for example advertising, branding and even packaging.

"When you walk into the supermarket and buy an orange, what physical force, compulsion, or coercion exists in the exchange between you and the cashier?"

Nothing exists on a singular level on that transaction but as we increase the scope and go behind the supply chains on a regional or national level we will find inefficiencies that will redefine that as a non-free market, for example government subsidies to Florida which convert back into higher price points consumers need to pay over cheaper and better products from the third world, protectionist polices and so on.
